The Remote Electronic Unit (REU) is a mono-block device. They are distributed electronics which are situated close to or are attached on the actuator to offer local control of the actuator. The REU takes commands and processes the incoming and outgoing signals for the functions required to control the actuators. It is a part of Digital Voice Control System. The remote electronic unit takes the commands from the Audio Control Units (ACU) and likewise influences and processes all the incoming and outgoing audio signals. In the recent past, there has been a huge surge in the demand for commercial passenger aircraft. This rising demand is owing to the ever-rising volume of global passenger traffic. Surging demand for fuel-efficient aircraft and lightweight flight control systems are key factors propelling the manufacturers to design and develop advanced flight control systems for use in the aircraft industry which is majorly driving the remote electronic unit market growth. Moreover, the better handling capability with the advanced fly-by-wire system is a key trend observed in the remote electronic unit market. The fly-by-wire flight control systems utilize computers to determine and process flight control inputs generated by the pilot or autopilot, and transfer related electric signals to flight control surface actuators. This arrangement takes place of mechanical linkage, which means that, the inputs by pilot do not directly move the control surfaces. As an addition to modern digital fly-by-wire flight control systems, a system known as IFCS (intelligent flight control system) is being designed. This forthcoming flight control system would offer high safety to crew and passengers, as well as improve aircraft performance under normal operating conditions. The key benefit of this system is that, it would enable the pilot to control an aircraft even under failure conditions which would normally cause it to crash. On the other hand, the huge costs incurred in the development of advanced remote electronic units (REU) are one of the key factors restraining the growth of the remote electronic unit market growth across the globe.

Furthermore, in the past few years, there has been an increase in the air travel activities, across the world, which has majorly contributed to the growth of the remote electronic unit market. Similarly, there has been a surge in the demand for remote electronic units, specifically from developing countries in Asia Pacific. Players in the remote electronic unit are taking benefit of this trend and building up their production capabilities to cater to the increasing air traffic volume, which has had a positive influence on the growth of the remote electronic unit market.
